AC repair & installation

Most AC calls trace back to a short list.

The outdoor unit hums but the house stays warm. The breaker trips every afternoon.

Water shows up around the furnace. We start with the parts that fail most often, like capacitors, contactors, a clogged condensate line or a dirty coil, and we check refrigerant pressures before anyone talks about replacing anything.

If the system is low on refrigerant, that means a leak somewhere. We find it and fix it, because topping off a leaking system just buys you a few weeks.

How we do it

New central air, sized for this house.

When a system is worn out, we quote a replacement that fits the house: cooling capacity matched to the square footage, windows and insulation, ductwork checked for the airflow the new unit needs, and an indoor coil that suits the furnace you already have.

Plenty of homes around Rose City only need cooling for a couple of months a year. We’ll talk through whether central air, a heat pump or a ductless mini split makes the most sense for yours.

Questions

Before you replace that AC.

Still not sure? Call (989) 305-5490 and ask. We’re open 24 hours.

Should I repair or replace my air conditioner?

It depends on the age of the system, the refrigerant it uses and what the repair is. We look at all three and give you a straight answer, including the times when a repair is the better buy.

Can you add central air to a house with a furnace?

Usually, yes. If the furnace and ductwork are in decent shape, a new outdoor unit and an evaporator coil on top of the furnace is the common route. We check the duct sizing first.

What if my house has no ductwork?

Then a ductless mini split is usually the cleaner answer. It cools room by room with no ducts to run. See our mini split page.
