About the area

A lumber camp town that became a lake community.

Hale sits in Plainfield Township on M-65. It started around a lumber camp on Hale Lake in the 1880s, got its post office in 1889, and has hosted the Iosco County Fair since 1944.

Today the area mixes homes in town with lake houses, cottages and rural places on big lots.

It’s roughly a half hour from our shop. Lake houses that switch between weekend use and full-time living, older homes with boilers and newer places ready for a heat pump all show up out this way.
